Taysia's Birthday Party
Our daughter Taysia had her 5th Birthday party on Saturday Nov 15 from 1 - 3 p.m.
We created e-vites for invitations and then used printout invitations from Nick Jr. for the kids in the neighborhood. Upon R.S.V.P. I asked each parent what their child’s favorite Yo Gabba Gabba character was for the masks and coloring sheets.
For our decorations we printed out the puppet theatre stuff from Nick Jr. and I found a picture of D.J. Lance to peer over the whole thing.
For the balloons included in the print out package I used yarn.
I also purchased 12 balloons 2 of each of the Gabba colors: Yellow for Plex, Blue for Toodee, Orange for DJ Lance, Red for Muno, Green for Brobee, and Pink for Foofa. I created cutouts to tape onto the balloons to make them look like the characters.
Once the guests arrived I already had set out on the table a setting for each child with a coloring sheet of their favorite character and a name tag and a mask. So as children arrived I sat them down to color.
Once everyone finished their coloring sheet I had them place it in the photo gallery and then I gave each parent a gold star and had them vote for their favorite picture (other than their own child’s) the winner of the coloring contest picked a prize.
Next we all played Freeze dance by playing the beginning of the “sleep” episode on my DVR because they have the “wiggle wiggle wiggle GO, hold still” song on it.
Then we split the kids in half and six went to play Pin the Eye on Muno, and the other six played Party in my tummy with Brobee then they switched. For Pin the Eye on Muno I just free handed it on red construction paper and glued it together and made the eyes by tracing circles with a can on white paper.
For the party in my tummy game I used the plastic food from Taysia’s Dora Kitchen and a Green bucket that I put a picture of Brobee on and I just used pink construction paper to draw a stomach with food in it and taped that over the Brobee picture. I had the kids stand on a line and see how much of the food they could throw in his “tummy” of the bucket while we played the party in my tummy song off of the CD. The winners of each game got a prize.
After the games we ate pizza and juice boxes. Next was the cake and cupcakes. I ordered the same colors as the balloons for the cupcakes and found a picture on-line of the characters that were in a circular shape that I printed out and glued 2 of the same character back to back around Sucker sticks that I bought at Michaels and stuck them in the corresponding colored cupcake.
For the cake I just bought a regular cake at the store pre decorated and added the figurines from Toys R Us and some candles and the little Yo Gabba Gabba logo that I got off of Taysia’s Toodee shirt that we got at Wal-Mart, along with the Party in My tummy shirt that her little sister Akaiya wore. We also served Life Savers Sherbert because it had all the Gabba colors.
Then we opened presents, then everyone left with Gabba Goody Bags that I made using the Nick Jr. Printouts. For each goody bag I put in favors that matched the color of the character, whistles, candy, stickers, the Gabba fortune tellers from the print out on Nick Jr., and I bought each guest a Gabba CD from itunes and customized the CD and case. We sent out the thanks you’s provided on Nick Jr. also. She had so much fun!
Without the help of gabbafriends.com and nickjr.com, I would have been lost without a cause. I used a lot of the ideas from other parents' parties for their children here on gabbafriends and I don't want to take credit for their great ideas, so thank you!

I loved how almost everything you had at your party was original and handmade. Very special! I especially loved the games you came up with... VERY CREATIVE!!!
You are so cute and creative!! Taysia's party looked like so much fun and it's so original! You are a great mom - way to go! I especially love the balloons...I am so stealing that idea! :)
Hello,
Your party was so well done, I want to do the same for my daughter!! Where did you find the cutouts for the cupcakes? I have searched the internet for 2 days and can't find them anywhere! Thank you!
Taysia is a lucky girl at 5!! Her mom put a lot of work into her party and it should be well rewarded - vote for her to win! This party was a 10! All the details and hard work paid off. She should win just on the effort alone - yeh for her mom!
Wow. this was amazing! The pin the eye on Muno game was an excellent idea!!! Can you please post a link to the theatre printables? I would like to print them out and I looked on Nick Jr and just couldn't find them. I want to frame each character in their land in our playroom. I would greatly appreciate it!!!
That looks like the BEST PARTY EVER!
I think it was put together really well, and would recommend to my other friends Finally I think the cake was the best.
