Joshua's Birthday Party
Joshua's mommy, Angela, sent in these awesome pictures from his recent second birthday party!

I was so proud of Joshua turning 2!

My two year old son Joshua LOVES YGG and we really like the show as well, so it wasn't a hard decision to make his birthday party a YGG dance party. It took a long time to prepare everything but it was totally worth it. When Joshua walked out of his bedroom and saw this, all he could say was, "wow, wow, wow!"

We made Plex and Brobee cups, and also the "juice" cups from Yummy in My Tummy. The Plex cups were made by shrinking the iron-on image from Nick Jr. website. The Brobee cups were drawn by hand on construction paper and cut out.

We decided to make balloons of Brobee, Plex, Muno and two balloon friends. I created the balloon friend faces, Brobee's eyes and Muno's eyes using Microsoft Word. Then, I printed, cut and taped them on the balloon using 3M double sided tape. I didn't have problems with the paper falling off, although once the balloons started deflating the paper faces looked more wrinkly.

I bought these garlands with the intention to use it for Christmas decor, then I realized that the colors match YGG colors really well so I decided to use them for the party. We printed out the YGG Party pack from Nick Jr., cut out the characters, and used double sided tape to tape it to the garlands. The finished product was hung on our dining room light. We decided to leave them up after the party was over as custom YGG Christmas decorations.

We hung the garlands across the kitchen/bar ceiling.

I spent all morning making a YGG cake for Joshua. A 3 layer yellow cake with apricot filling and vanilla buttercream. The cake was decorated with YGG figurines and fondant. The fondant was ready made and can be purchased at Michael's.

A small cake was made with the girls of YGG.

What's a dance party without dancing? Here is Joshua and Daddy dancing to the happy birthday song performed by the Ting Tings. We also danced to Sometimes You Win, Sometimes You Lose, Up and Down, and Hold Still.

One of the games we played was Guess the Dancey Dance. My husband edited all the season 1 dancey dances into one DVD. We passed out this sheet and had the guests watch the DVD with the TV on mute. They had to match the celebrity friend to the correct dance. After everyone finished marking their choices, we watched the DVD with sound and everyone thought the dancey dances were hilarious, especially Hector Jimenez and Leslie Hall.

A screen shot of the DVD that Daddy made. We also played Pin the Eye on Muno with all the adults.

We printed out the iron-on images on paper and put them up as wall decor.

Here is birthday boy, Joshua with one of his gifts! He loves his Brobee plush.

I made a banner with her scrapbook paper cutting machine and glued on cut out characters from the YGG puppet set.

Your ideas are so great! How did you make the DVD? I would love to have that game since most of my guests will be adults. If you wouldn't mind sharing, any tips would be great! Thanks!
Hey There! I love all that you did for your son! I am gearing up for a YGG party for my own! I was wondering if you happen to still have a copy of your Dancey Dance game? Perhaps I could send you a DVD and maybe you could make me a copy? I hope so!
Great job! I will have to use some of your ideas! Love it!
Wow! This is amazing! So creative! I love it and will probably be using your ideas for my son's first Bday! Thanks!

Thanks for the wonderful ideas. It gives me hope my daughter will have a yo gabba gabba party this year and enjoy it as much as your little one.
can't think of a better party theme than this for Joshua. You should see how much fun he had. The decor and the cake were all very professsional looking. Well done Angela.
I'd actually give these decorations a rating of 37 out of 37 stars!!! Everything in the room was YGG. Super creative.
The juice cups are a good idea.
I was there and those decorations were awesome.
Looks like you made the birthday boy a happy camper!
AMAZING! That's quite the party. I can't believe you made all of that. I especially like the dancey dance game idea for the parents.
I might have to steal some of these ideas :)
