Need Help Decorating Your Gabbafriends Profile?

If you have a free account/profile on Gabbafriends.com, then you've probably noticed that when you clicked "User list" you can see the latest people online along with information they have chosen to share.

Today I made it so you can't see the "about me" section from the user list anymore unless you click on the actual profile. I did that so that people could be free to express who they are with pictures, videos, networking badges, etc., without it flooding the "User list". Thanks to the clever users on Gabbafriends.com who started adding their pictures to their profiles, it has become obvious that having your own personal style is necessary. Toodee would approve of your pioneering spirit, friends.

We have also added some new fields such as a URL and a Location.

With this new feature of being able to express yourself in your profiles, we honestly hate having to censor people (seriously, we hate it), but it is our website, and there are certain things we cannot tolerate. So please help us out by reading the rules so we don't have to play the moderator role so much.

Getting Started:

So to get started on getting your profile all fancy, I'm going to give you a few basic html hints to help get you started.

First, to see an example of a decorated profile, I did mine up just to test it. Click on my picture above to see my profile.

To edit your profile, click "edit", then click on "personal information". There you will see an "About me" box with some general guidelines on acceptable posting.

Now for the html tags:

In order for these tags to work, you will need to remove the spaces after each "<" and before each ">" sign.

Bold: < b > Enter text < /b >

Italics: < i > Enter text < /i >

Pink headlines:

< h3 > Type in title here < /h3 >

Post Pictures: Signing up for Flickr, Photobucket, or any other imaging hosting service is the best way to go. From there, they give you an html code to paste into your profile. Please make sure you choose a smaller size so it doesn't break out of the column (max width = "500px") Note: This does allow people to view your personal photostreams, so if you wish to keep your private pictures out of the public eye, you may choose to not post them, or you might want to create a new account to use for posting pics online.

Text: If you find the text is all wonky after posting with pictures (like they're being smashed together and out of order), adding this code after each picture will keep things separated: < br clear="all" >

Videos: Use the embed information from any video hosting site to embed a video. You can choose a video from Yo Gabba Gabba, add a home video, or a favorite music video. Remember, keep it clean!!!

Social Networking Badges: If you want to add buttons from your favorite blogs, websites, or your own personal social networking, simply paste the html given by that site. Remember, if there is inappropriate language in that button, we will remove it with or without warning.

Photo Albums: I really like using Rockyou.com for a free photo album. You can customize it to your liking using captions, etc.!
