My failed attempt at Foofa cake pops

I've recently come across a divine bake blog ( I consider myself to be somewhat of a bake-aholic) I found a recipe for red velvet cake balls. I successfully made a batch and they were beyond delicious!

Ive been planning little things here and there for my sons party in June (Its still a while away, but planning is so much fun!) So I got in my head an idea that I just had to try. Why not make these yummy cake balls and make them into Yo Gabba Gabba characters for the party? Bakerella does amazing stuff so I thought I could too.

I followed her instructions and then stuck them on lolly pop sticks...and attempted to decorate. I used pink candy melts for the Foofa color, I used m&m mini's for the center of the flower and a white and red candy melt pen for the details... oh and chocolate sprinkles for the eyes....

This is what I ended up with...

I know they're not great(the 4th one from left to right makes it look like Foofa fell off a skyscraper) The look on my sons face confirmed it as well, he looked at me as if he was saying "mommy what happened to foofa?"....so we ate her, she tasted a million times better then she looked that's for sure

So why would I share my terrible attempt at making these? Well I try to be as crafty as I can be, I know that someone else might be able to do this right and impress their kiddies and family members! so give it a go! (post pics if you do!)

I hope I gave you some ideas for your party snacks, these are not only delicious and not good for anyone dieting, but they are the perfect bite sized cake balls for the little ones, my son just loves them!

I have also been reading up on these on cafemom. I had planned on making them last weekend but got sick so I will attempt to make them this weekend. I had also thought about making them into YGG. So we will see how they turn out. I have red so I guess I will be making muno!!

Notable Quotes

"My kids [Stella, 22 months, and Liam, 3] are obsessed with Yo Gabba Gabba! It's a dream to guest on the show and do a dance-y dance!"

-Tori Spelling, actress

"I love YO GABBA GABBA. I don't care what you say, DJ Lance, Muno, Brobee, Foofa, Toodee and Plex have taught my daughter many valuable lessons--like the desirability of napping, for one. Not to throw objects at Daddy's skull. Not biting. The value of 'trying again' and 'not giving up.' All set to surprisingly weird, offbeat songs which--in another venue and with other lyrics, one might find oneself enjoying at a club. They get good indie bands as guests, and Mark Mothersbaugh of DEVO is a regular. I know every song and every lyric by heart."

-Anthony Bourdain, host of No Reservations
