A weekend with DJ Lance and Brobee at the Festival of Books
How awesome is it that Yo Gabba Gabba! was able to perform TWO days this week at the L.A. Festival of Books hosted at UCLA!! I was able to make it both days. YAY!
Saturday's event started at 3:25PM The crowd was huge! and boy was it hot! There were ton of children sporting their gabba gear and I even met a few!

This is little Kailee and Kevin Nakaishi, they were being so good, waiting patiently for the show to start.

I couldn't help but smile when the sweetest gabbafriend came up to say hi. We had matching DJ Lance Rock stars!!! How cool is that!? It made me super happy that someone thought my hair pin was cool enough to make one of their own!

The show started shortly after I arrived, I tried to get as close as I could, but Yo Gabba Gabba has a ton of fans!

Despite the heat, DJ Lance and Brobee were awesome! The crowd was full of happy children and parents. It was a sight to see, especially when he played Jumpy! Jump! Jump!

After the show, fans were able to get their books and Yo Gabba Gabba! DVD's signed by the DJ Lance Rock! I met 6yr old Ethan that had stood in line with his dad and was the lucky first one! He was excited and proudly showed off his YGG T-shirt!

Before leaving I walked around a bit, it was so nice to see 3yr old Emily and 6yr old Sarah! You may remember them from the KidRobot event. I also met 4yr old Daniel they were all waiting in line excited to meet DJ Lance again!

Since Saturday was crowded I made it a point to get there extra extra early! And April and Destiny had the same plan in mind, we both got there at the same time.

Time passed and the crowd increased. Yo Gabba Gabba! performed at the Target stage. In the front they had chairs for children. So everyone grabbed a seat and tried to patiently wait.

I love Yo Gabba Gabba! events, because there are so many friendly people, I've made new friends every time I go.

Im not kidding when it comes to the crowd, in a few minutes it just grew instantly! WOW!

So now that you saw the crowd...imagine what it sounded like when DJ Lance Rock came out to start the show! It was SO exciting!

He started the show and we all got our wiggles out, received a bunch of high fives and listened to some slammin tunes like the Yo Gabba Gabba! jingle "pick it up!" and our favorite "Lovely, Love My Family" by The Roots (such a big hit and the episode hasn't even aired!) The best part was watching all the kids sing along and get their dance on! Destiny had some super sweet moves! I couldn't help but smile!

What a special treat! Brobee came out and EVERYONE sang along to "Party in my Tummy!"

The show ended with the "Goodbye" song and everyone went to get in line for the signing. Yay! We got to meet DJ Lance Rock! How exciting!

I cant express to you in words how genuinely nice and sweet DJ Lance Rock is. Yes he is really as awesome as on T.V. (Seeing my son smile ear to ear was totally worth waking up at the crack of dawn)

We got our book signed, chatted for a few seconds and left happy as can be.
The line for the signing was extremely long, and sadly some fans had to be turned away. Our Super Gabbafriend Yo-Tattooed-Mama-Yo was one of them!
(The booths are shared by a list of authors and each have a certain time frame to do signings, but im sure DJ Lance wished he could have met everyone!)
I was so happy to meet Delane, I've read her post and Im excited to see how her YGG tattoo comes out. She is just as cool as I expected her to be, and her babies are adorable!

GabbaFriends are the best! Thank you Frankie for sending in these pictures! I just love that shirt! DJ GABE!
