Modern Family Loves Yo Gabba Gabba!
Here's a fun story, but first I need to give you a little bit of the backstory. Just a few days ago, at the Primetime Emmy Awards, a little show called Modern Family won the award for the Outstanding Comedy Series, a third consecutive year in a row. Also winners that night from Modern Family were Julie Bowen (who plays Claire Dunphy) and Eric Stonestreet (who plays Cameron Tucker) who won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, and Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series, respectively.
You're probably wondering what this has to do with Yo Gabba Gabba! Well, just recently, both Bowen AND Stonestreet (actually, his character on the show), have given shout outs to Yo Gabba Gabba!
In April, Julie Bowen was at Milk & Bookies, where she tweeted a picture of her experience meeting DJ Lance Rock! The caption read, "Best party ever? DJ LANCE with my johnny and goddaughter Wallis at @milkandbookies event."

In the past, Julie Bowen has said of Yo Gabba Gabba in interviews, "I've heard all the evidence about television for kids, but every now and then Yo Gabba Gabba! is your best friend when you need to get the dishes done or just chill out for a minute." (Julie Bowen, have you been reading MY DIARY??)
Then tonight while watching the season premiere of Modern Family, I perked up when I heard Eric Stonestreet delivering a line that contained the words "Yo Gabba Gabba". He and his partner, Mitchell, were bantering on camera, talking about what it is like as a gay couple to receive gifts from their community.

They explain into the camera with this dialog:
Cameron: The giant stuffed elephant was a gift from our good friend, Pepper.
Mitchell: Gay guys having kids is relatively new, so our community has not yet learned how to modulate baby gifts.
Cameron: When Stephen and Stephan had little Rocco, our friend sent over the whole cast of Yo Gabba Gabba.
Mitchell: Now Rocco cries whenever he sees bright colors.
Cameron (shaking his head and talking quietly): I'm not allowed over there.
Mitchell (shaking his head in agreement): No.
It's Really Happening!: Yo Gabba Gabba Collaborating with Volcom and a Bunch of Celebrities you Love.
For several weeks (or what has felt like several months), people close to Yo Gabba Gabba have been teasing us fans like crazy over something called, "It's Really Happening!" A link was often provided to a very cryptic video featuring Flaming Lips' front man Wayne Coyne, and legendary rapper Biz Markie. It had us all scratching our heads wondering what the heck was going on! I typically hate cryptic messages (Facebook drives me crazy for this very reason), but I'll admit, I was moderately intrigued.
New Ad for Wonderful Pistachios Featuring Brobee!
If you are familiar with the ads from Wonderful Pistachios, you know they do a great job of mixing humor with current pop culture. We've seen ads featuring the likes of Snooki, Angry Birds, viral video star the Honey Badger, and even the popular meme, Keyboard Cat. A great ad campaign for a truly great product. (It's a favorite snack at our home; no, I am not being compensated to say so!)
To my delight, this morning I happened upon this ad featuring our dear furry friend, Brobee! YES!!! Check it out!

Biz Markie Talks Yo Gabba Gabba! on TMZ
On tonight's episode of TMZ, they stopped Biz Markie on the street and talked to him about Yo Gabba Gabba! The banter in the TMZ newsroom isn't exactly flattering... you know that old joke about the Gabba crew being on drugs. The same joke that makes me say, "Isn't it possible that there are actually people out there who don't need drugs to be creative? DUR!" Plus, I do have firsthand knowledge that lame rumor/joke is completely false.
Nonetheless, I can't argue with the fact that any publicity is good publicity, even from TMZ. Plus, Biz is just so dern cute. I can't help but love him.
Ella's Foofa Painting
